Reception August 3rd, 11:30am – 1:30pm
July 30th - August 20th
UNDER HER WING celebrates the mentoring and creative work of women. Ten veteran women artists teaching for the Seattle Community Colleges District have chosen a student to show alongside them. Each of the women artists has a rich exhibition history and deep roots in the community. In this exhibit, each has asked a protege to share in their creative and professional practice. The creativity of UNDER HER WING reaches across economic, racial, and generational lines to celebrate the art and stewardship of women.

Jones, Anna McKee, Elizabeth Sandvig, Julie Shapiro, Michael Spafford, and Barbara Earl Thomas will be on view in both the main gallery and the upstairs space beginning July 9.
Most of the artists included in this show would call themselves painters rather than printmakers; however, the work they do in this area has become part of their process, allowing them to take a fresh look at formal problems and experiment with different materials and techniques.
