Opening June 2008 Catherine Gill – Artopia Festival 2008 Catherine Gill and a team of artists will be on hand during the Artopia 2008 festival in the parking lot outside Catherine’s studio on 5628 Airport Way South to facilitate a community printmaking project. We will use actual bricks collected from the Ice House Demolition site as printmaking plates to be inked and to make prints. We will print on large sheets of cloth to create a new brick print "Wall". No experience necessary. Child-friendly. A team of printmakers and artists will assist in showing you how to do Relief Printmaking using bricks as the plate, and rolling ink over them to create a large composite print. Printmaking will be done by hand onto large sheets of cloth that will be hung from the Bottling Plant building during the summer. Artists create with a diversity of material, often using unlikely materials. Come join us. It's a yes vote for Creativity, no matter what falls down around you.
