About Seattle Print Arts

Seattle Print Arts is an association of artists, arts professionals and collectors who have an avid interest in the expanding field of print arts and an appreciation of the print media. Our mission is to foster intellectual and artistic dialogue, serve as a resource for news in the field of printmaking, forge links between artists, and serve as a base for a variety of activities that focus on the print arts.

Since its formation in January 2000, Seattle Print Arts has organized symposia, lectures, print exchanges, demonstrations, and several print exhibits, including two international exchange exhibitions.

Seattle Print Arts also sponsors a printmaking scholarship at Seattle's Pratt Fine Arts Center, the Larry Sommers Art Fellowship, and the Mini Money Grants(pdf).

How To Apply:
We welcome submissions from current members of Seattle Print Arts. If you are not a current member of Seattle Print Arts, sign up on line is easy. Go to seattleprintarts.org to become a member.

You may submit up to three (3) images of works created in the past two years. All works that include some type of fine art printmaking are welcome, including all forms of intaglio, relief, archival digital print, lithography, artists’ books. Gyclees are not accepted.

Image Format: 
All images must be in JPEG format (.jpg), and sized to 1024 pixels (14.222 inches) on the longest side.
The image file should be named as follows: artist’s last name, first initial, underscore, number corresponding to the number on the image list (example: smithp_1.jpg).

Separate image list document (PDF or Word) MUST include:
Name, email, phone number, list of images numbered to correspond to jpeg files, including title, image size, media, and date.

Send To:
For e-mail submissions (our preferred method of receipt) attach all files to the message, do not embed jpegs in the text. submissions@seattleprintarts.org.

For regular mail submissions save jpeg files on a CD or flash drive labeled “Pigment +Paper 2015” and write the artist’s name clearly on the CD or flash drive and mail to:

Dates to Remember:

♦ December 8, 2014 - submissions due via email (preferred) or by postmark date.

♦ February 1, 2015  - Confirmation of acceptance.

♦ February 21, 2015, 10am - 2pm - Deliver accepted artwork to Bellevue College. All work must be ready to hang  or display with instructions.

♦ March 4, 2015, 4 - 7pm  - Bellevue College reception.

♦ March 7, 2015, 4 - 6pm - Seattle Print Arts reception.

To Post An Announcement

If you are a member of Seattle Print Arts, we will post your announcement in the weekly newsletter and on the website.

Please send us your announcements about your upcoming exhibitions. We would also like to know about any upcoming print related classes, equipment for sale, studios for rent, or calls for printmakers.

Please send information as text and no all-caps and no postcard announcements please. Include a separate image and please use your name as the filename, ie: jane_doe.jpg. Email (news at seattleprintarts.org) us at least one week prior to an event or as early as three weeks before.

In your email please state that you would like your announcement posted in our newsletter and on our website, so we can separate it from non-member show announcements we get.
