About Seattle Print Arts

Seattle Print Arts is an association of artists, arts professionals and collectors who have an avid interest in the expanding field of print arts and an appreciation of the print media. Our mission is to foster intellectual and artistic dialogue, serve as a resource for news in the field of printmaking, forge links between artists, and serve as a base for a variety of activities that focus on the print arts.

Since its formation in January 2000, Seattle Print Arts has organized symposia, lectures, print exchanges, demonstrations, and several print exhibits, including two international exchange exhibitions.

Seattle Print Arts also sponsors a printmaking scholarship at Seattle's Pratt Fine Arts Center, the Larry Sommers Art Fellowship, and the Mini Money Grants(pdf).

We hope you can join us!

Seattle Print Arts is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

2014 Larry Sommers Art Fellowship Award

Seattle Print Arts is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2014 Larry Sommers Art Fellowship Award is Nicole Pietrantoni!

Nicole is using the Fellowship Award to fund a new body of work at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, as part of her sabbatical from Whitman College. Her work will focus on the mediation of nature via digitally printed, room sized, installations of idealized landscapes. Her recent installations of Precipitous and Implications, show her new work.

The purpose of this fellowship is to support artistic excellence in the areas of print arts, book arts and works on or of paper. The award will provide a stipend of $2,000 to produce new work or to support a project in progress. The selected artist will be determined by the artistic excellence of the work presented in the application by a panel of arts professionals connected with the fellowship committee of Seattle Print Arts. In addition to the monetary award, the chosen artist will receive a one-year Seattle Print Arts membership.
